AVAILABILITY OF INFRASTRUCTURE ON AZURE

ABOUT THE CLIENT

With the changing of technology, gaming has changed accordingly, and with every change, there are always new things to wow the gamers. This client of ours is a new age gaming startup which focuses on building SaaS and PaaS solutions on cloud for game building. Why did they reach out to us at CloudifyOps you ask? They reached out to us to help them with design and implementation of infrastructure. This was not all. The client had thought of hosting a game building along with the gaming apps in a high performance environment. But the fact is that Cloud is not the right choice for game building and hosting as there are various limitations with respect to the usage of multiple graphics cards. The primary importance which needs to be paid heed to is the ability to #scale the environment with required #security measures as and when required. This is because this environment is majorly used for hackathons, schools, colleges and gaming communities.

THE SOLUTION

In order to address the challenges faced by the clients, CloudifyOps worked on the below mentioned solutions, keeping in mind the best practices and business continuity.

  • End-to-end solution was created, reviewed and approved by the Technology team.
  • All applications were hosted on a cluster of Windows 2019 servers, Apache Guacamole was configured as the middle layer for remote apps rendering, Blob Storage has been used to store media content.
  • All licenses were purchased by the customer. The best part is that as part of the solution, a physical datacenter was used to host graphic intensive applications
  • Site to Site VPN tunnel was created between #Azure and Datacenter in order to ensure that all applications were working in a private subnet in the backend.

BENEFITS DELIVERED

After analysing the applications of the client, CloudifyOps experts came up with the above mentioned solutions thus offering the following benefits:

  • Built an infrastructure that could support around 5,000 users at the same time.
  • The first few hackathons were a great success which resulted in interests generated from other gaming companies.
