Our customer is a new-age gaming startup offering revolutionary SaaS and PaaS marketing solutions that harmonize the engagement between businesses and gamers. They are a pioneer in creating seamlessly integrated advertising that can coexist with the surrounding game content.
Traditionally, game building and hosting required dedicated and powerful local servers, and had a limitation to the usage of multiple graphic cards. Cloud is the preferred choice of platform for game building and hosting. With the cloud, scalability, flexibility, and accessibility make it easier to adapt to changing demands. Our customer wanted to provide a high-performance environment for hosting many game-building and gaming apps. As the environments were primarily targeted for hackathons, schools, colleges, and gaming communities, scalability was essential.
The new infrastructure could support up to 5000 simultaneous users, which was a significant benefit. The first couple of hackathons that our customer ran were a massive success. This led to interest from other gaming companies in our customer’s cloud setup.
The CloudifyOps team created an end-to-end solution architecture that was reviewed and approved by the customer Technology team. All applications were hosted on a cluster of Windows 2019 servers. A physical data center hosted graphics-intensive applications to amplify their performance. A virtual private network was set up between the data center and the cloud infrastructure to ensure all applications were working in a secure environment. The CloudifyOps team recommended using Apache Guacamole for remote app rendering and Blob Storage for media storage.
