Our customer is an e-commerce business with leading fashion brands, offering affordable fashion for everyone everywhere. The mission is to allow people to express their true selves through their clothes and accessories.
The e-commerce site was hosted on physical VMs from a third-party hosting provider. A complex monolithic application, the customer teams struggled with inflexibility, maintenance, and feature upgrades. A single unstable service brought down the system, giving a poor experience for end-users. To deploy new features, the entire application had to be redone, significantly increasing the time and effort and reducing the agility and productivity of the customer’s development teams.
The CloudifyOps team built a simplified setup for deploying changes to the e-commerce application. A Jenkins pipeline automatically started when the customer developer teams updated code in a repository. This pipeline created a new image to run the application. The Docker image was uploaded to a Docker registry or AWS ECR and deployed to development, testing, or live/production Kubernetes environments. A new process enabled testing and approving changes before moving from one stage to the next. This approach makes development smoother, ensures deployments are consistent across different environments, and ensures that the application remains reliable and high-quality.
