One of our clients has multiple teams to work on a single product, the Operations team rely on ServiceNow for handling Service Requests and managing incidents and problems, and Software Development teams likely use Jira to plan, track, and release software. The use of different tools by these teams leads to a lack of collaboration, which significantly hinders overall productivity and the success of projects.
We quickly understood the gap between the teams, and discovered all the possible ways to enhance cross-functional collaboration breaking down silos, and ensuring data consistency across teams.
We used the Getint integration platform to integrate Jira and Snow. It helped the teams to avoid 2-3 Hrs per a day of manual effort in creating multiple tickets and seamlessly sync their operational and development updates and progress between the two platforms. After the integration, users can view and manage their Jira task, Incidents within ServiceNow, and vice versa. We have provided a unified workspace to track your tickets and collaborate with teams. It also helped to integrate, synchronize and migrate data between Jira, ServiceNow.
Once Jira and ServiceNow environments have been set up, the next step is to set up the integration and data sync via Getint UI.
4. Then click Create Integration
5. In the pop-up, select “continuous sync” or “migration” based on the requirement
6. Click on the Connect App (Jira & ServiceNow) accordingly as advised on the screen and authenticate the apps
Click CONNECT APP, and then click Jira

7. Click on add mapping type to map the ticket types in both SNOW and Jira.
Once the ticket type(s) have been mapped, we can now perform the related field mapping. Getint supports the mapping of the basic fields, advanced fields, and custom fields.Bydefault, Title and Description fields are mapped once the integration has been set. We can navigate to “Type mapping configuration” to map additional fields.
We can enable the synchronization of status, comments, and attachments of the tickets in both the directions for JIRA ↔ SNOW
On the editor screen, click “Create” to create the mappings and start syncing the data
After creating the integration whenever there is a Jira task created respictive incident will be created in the SNOW.
With this integration we can synchronize, and migrate data across Jira and snow tolls. Our solution is designed to accommodate a wide range of configurations, from simple one-to-one, one-way transfers to complex many-to-many, bi-directional synchronizations.
