Our customer is a global leader in furniture with an e-commerce presence. Their mission is to simplify the live of people with their brands and businesses and have a cost-conscious mindset. They are located in Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Americas.
With everchanging workload needs, the resources provisioned by the customer teams against a predicted demand were poorly matched to the actual demand. The teams were manually deploying infrastructure and applications, which was time-intensive and prone to issues. The security measures for storing their customers’ coupon data were not foolproof. Though their applications were engineered as microservices, the customer development teams were spending many effort hours deploying and maintaining the necessary cloud infrastructure. Our customer wanted to move all of their applications, internal and customer-facing, to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
The new Azure architecture enabled our customer to save up to 40% on overall cloud costs. Many pay-as-you-go services were employed that charged based on consumption, marking a significant reduction in cloud costs incurred by our customer. The customer development teams saved on the effort and time required to deploy and maintain servers by moving to the serverless Azure Function service. This led to an increase in productivity from the teams. Automating infrastructure
deployment for multiple markets using ARM + Github + Jenkins resulted in a drastic reduction of effort hours from days to hours.
The CloudifyOps team implemented an end-to-end solution architecture. Infrastructure deployment for multiple markets and environments was automated with one-click ARM templates. The development teams were enabled with separate resource groups for development, staging, and production environments, improving the security and reliability of the development process. Azure App Service ensured that the cloud resources for our customer’s different applications were packaged and secured, allowing for communications over private networks. The CloudifyOps team set up an infrastructure and application monitoring and alerting system with ELK and Grafana.
