• How do you motivate yourself to do the best for yourself and the organization

I always try to be aware of new tools launched in the market. It is exciting to master them and focus on delivering the benefits of those tools to our customers, despite having to overcome the minimal support you get from the open-source community.

• How have you grown professionally while on our team?

I joined CloudifyOps as an Associate Manager – IT and am now a Technical Architect. I am leading a team of 10 across IT Support, Cloud, and DevOps. Over the years, I have handled and learned from various challenges across different projects. This experience has ensured that I am able to apply my knowledge to help meet customer requirements.

• How has CloudifyOps helped you develop yourself personally (soft skills)?

From an IT Administrator to a manager, my growth has been tremendous. To lead a team, you need to be empathetic and motivating. I developed this focus on individuals apart from guiding them on the technology front. Other than emotional intelligence, I would also like to discuss building my project management skills, from planning to delivery and analysis post-delivery.

• What kinds of resources have you taken advantage of while on our team?

I was encouraged to do my certifications by the leaders here. I have completed AWS certifications. Apart from learning for myself, I have also shared my knowledge through training sessions for the team here.

• What have been your biggest accomplishments on our team? Where have you made the biggest impact?

I enabled a customer to become HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) compliant. This was critical to the organization, as they work with health-related information and should conform to relevant regulations.

• What was the most fun moment with the team?

It was at the 2021 annual celebrations in Pallet, Bangalore. During office hours and in the office, we don’t go beyond work-related discussions very often. This celebration is one of my best memories of having a lot of fun with the team!

Upskilling and Certifications

• What is the one thing you learned in the last month related to your work?

Jumpcloud, Grafana with Mimir (cost-effective option for monitoring and log management)

• What do you like about the learning/training initiatives at CloudifyOps?

We have changed the new joiner training program, an initiative that was led by our Director of Technology, Kumaradas. We now have tailored material on various technologies that new joiners can follow, along with pre-recorded videos and GitLab repositories for practice exercises. This ensures that the training is much more impactful as compared to a standard training template. I am excited to see the value this will add to our team members and the work that we deliver to our customers.

• What certification are you preparing for now? Or what was the most recent certification you obtained?

I recently obtained my AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional certification.

• What are three words you would use to describe CloudifyOps?

Challenging (letting us learn and understand new technologies), friendly, and always approachable.

• What has your experience been with our company culture?

The culture at CloudifyOps is progressive and motivating. It is the sole reason for me to be here for 6 years and counting. I feel encouraged to pursue new technologies and explore new tools, which could help us serve our customers better.

• How would you describe your team?

They do a fantastic job and consistently explore new tools, technologies, and trends in the market.

• What are some things you’ve noticed about our leadership team?

Their vision, the future that they envision for the CloudifyOps team – I am happy to be a part of this vision and am excited to see how it works out.

• What advice would you give to someone who wants to enter this field?

Identify some of the tools that are currently in demand and focus on building your knowledge of these tools. Cloud and DevOps are the most in-demand technology fields now; if you are focused and dedicated to learning, you can have a successful career.
